🧠 How it works

New 48-team format explained in three steps.

1️⃣

Group stage

12 groups of 4 teams play round-robin. Top 2 from every group plus the 8 best third-placed teams advance — 32 teams continue.

2️⃣

Knockouts

Round of 32 → Round of 16 → Quarter-finals → Semi-finals. Single elimination, extra time and penalties if level.

3️⃣

The Final

July 19, 2026 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. One match. One champion.
